GUIDE / STORAGE

Free up space
without deleting blindly.

Photo count does not always reveal what takes the most room. A good cleanup combines easy decks, large media and careful confirmation.

SHORT ANSWER

How do you recover storage used by photos?

Start with unwanted screenshots, similar shots and blurry photos, then inspect the largest media. In MonTri, every rejection remains reviewable before deletion. Space is only truly recovered after the operating system applies deletion and, depending on the platform, after its Recently Deleted area is cleared.

01

Choose the highest-return deck

Long videos and high-resolution files usually recover more space per item. Screenshots and similar series offer many easy decisions. Choose based on your goal: a few large files or lots of small clutter.

02

Why storage may not drop immediately

iOS and Android may temporarily retain deleted media in a recovery area. Those items can continue using storage. Only clear that area after making sure the deleted selection is correct.

03

Keep a backup before a major cleanup

For a large library, make sure the backup or synchronization you expect is working before bulk deletion. MonTri cannot restore an image that is no longer in its review bin, system recovery or your own backups.

  • Test with a small deck first.
  • Check the bin before confirmation.
  • Clear Recently Deleted only when you are certain.

Storage cleanup questions

Will deleting one hundred photos always recover lots of space?

No. File format, resolution and video content matter. A few large files can outweigh hundreds of screenshots.

Why has available storage not changed?

Media may still be in the system recovery album, or the storage calculation may not have refreshed yet.

Does MonTri also delete cloud backups?

The effect depends on your phone’s synchronization settings. In some synchronized libraries, a local deletion propagates to other devices. Check your settings before a large cleanup.
