GUIDE / PHOTO SORTING

Sort photos
with a swipe.

Swiping turns an endless camera roll into a sequence of small decisions. MonTri keeps that gesture simple without letting an algorithm decide which memories matter.

SHORT ANSWER

How do you sort a camera roll by swiping?

MonTri shows one photo at a time on iPhone or Android. Swipe left to place it in the review bin or right to keep it. At the end of the session, review every rejected photo before confirming deletion with the operating system.

01

One frame, one decision, then a review

Start with a focused deck: a year, place, orientation, duplicates, blur or screenshots. A smaller deck gives the session a visible finish instead of dropping you into the entire library.

A swipe does not delete immediately. It prepares a selection you can inspect, correct and restore before the final system confirmation. Separating the quick decision from the real deletion reduces mistakes.

  • Choose a deck that fits the time you have.
  • Swipe left or right, with undo available.
  • Review the bin before any system deletion.

02

When swiping beats selecting from a grid

A grid works well for ten obviously useless screenshots. It is less helpful when you need to judge framing, an expression or focus. Full-screen review lets you see each image properly without repeated zooming and checkboxes.

Swiping is best for libraries accumulated over several years and for people who want the final say. A fully automatic cleaner may be faster for bulk deletion, but it is a different editorial choice.

03

A realistic routine instead of one giant cleanup

Ten minutes with this year’s screenshots or one old trip is often more sustainable than spending a whole weekend cleaning. MonTri saves progress and provides a weekly recap without forcing a guilt-driven daily streak.

Swipe sorting questions

Is a photo deleted as soon as I swipe left?

No. It first enters MonTri’s review bin. System deletion requires a separate confirmation.

Can I undo the wrong swipe?

Yes. Undo during sorting or restore the image from review before confirming deletion.

Does MonTri work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. MonTri is available on the App Store and Google Play in English and French.

Do I have to start with my whole library?

No. A focused deck such as screenshots, one year, one place or duplicates is usually easier to finish.
